About Us

Grades Taught

8-12

The Kimberley Alternate School (KAS) offers a self-directed program for students in an alternate educational setting that is designed to meet the educational, social, and emotional needs of students. KAS offers independent, self-paced learning with direct support from teachers, education assistants, and youth workers to assist students in completing their Dogwood Diploma.

KAS is deeply rooted in the principles of the Circle of Courage: belonging, mastery, generosity, and independence. Students often choose to come down to KAS because they feel a strong sense of community. To further support students, KAS also collaborates with community service workers to bring social-emotional and mental health support to students.

I choose to come down to KAS because you work at your own pace, and it has a feeling of community you just don't see
